- 1875: Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, both young watchmakers from the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland, founded the company. They aimed to create complex timepieces that combined precision and aesthetic beauty.
- 1881: The partnership was officially registered as Audemars Piguet & Cie in Le Brassus, Vallée de Joux, Switzerland.
